RESEARCH ON THE RESILIENCE CONCEPT AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN THE RAILWAY TRANSPORT MARKET
Abstract
In modern business systems, great attention is focused on optimal functioning during disruptive events. The need for positive system function during disruptive events allowed a new concept named resilience to emerge. Resilience alongside the traditional risk management concept will be an indispensable part of any major engineering, organizational, and economic system framework. The main goal of the paper is to present the resilience concept application in the railway sector, and possibilities for its application on the railway public operator in the open railway market conditions. Results of the research are the following: resilience concept theory is presented from various fields, main differences between the risk concept and resilience concept are described, quantitative models for resilience expression are sublimed from various fields, resilience concept usage in the railway sector is described, and possibilities of its application in the open railway market conditions.
