GREEN REVITALIZATION OF THE RAILWAY HERITAGE
Abstract
Bright examples of renovation projects and adequate use are: the station in Herceg Novi, on Škver, renovated for the needs of the film school, the building and platform in Obrenovac, today a bus station. Traffic heritage is a segment of technical heritage that includes research and presentation of the movement of people and goods in the past, along with the restoration and contemporary interpretation of preserved elements of traffic and construction infrastructure, vehicles, vessels, aircraft and accompanying equipment, which have been valorized as monuments or are not in active use. Like other types of cultural and historical heritage, railway heritage offers us different types: immovable heritage of station buildings, water towers, platform canopies, bridges, tunnels, cuttings, embankments and other construction objects, then movable heritage represented by locomotives, wagons, rail vehicles, signs, signals, switches, railroad equipment, photographs and documentation, as well as intangible heritage in the form of stories, anecdotes and memories of actors and researchers.
