REVIEW OF THE BOOK "RAIL TRANSPORT REGULATORY SYSTEM"
Abstract
The introduction of carrier competition on the railway network in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century was a revolutionary turn in the organization and functioning of the railway system, which has not changed practically since its inception, that is, since the middle of the 19th century. If at the time of the monopolistically organized railway system, ignorance of the organization of the railway sector could be "tolerated" for a technologist and organizer of railway traffic and transport, for which a student of the Faculty of Traffic in Belgrade is studying, now, in market conditions, it would be a great handicap for him. The new concept of the railway system imposed new needs and requirements for the knowledge of a traffic engineer. The functioning of the market in the transport sector and on the railway infrastructure initiates completely new technical and technological challenges. For these challenges, it is necessary to define new contents on the railway module of the Faculty of Transportation.
