Abstract

The railway is a fundamental part of a country's transportation network, ensuring safe and efficient transport of passengers and goods while meeting various needs. The complexity of the railway system requires the establishment of precisely defined parameters to ensure traffic safety. The challenge lies in the large number of railway systems and regulations that differ from country to country. Addressing these challenges has led to the development of Technical Specifications for Interoperability. The Technical Specifications for Interoperability ensure the removal of barriers for easier movement between countries, in terms of the unification of signaling, control, and management. A significant segment being improved is train movement control. General characteristics are defined within the "Subset 026," thereby setting the foundation for train movement control. A fundamental classification has been made, distinguishing between fixed-composition trains called Gamma and variable-composition trains called Lambda. These principles are also applied in Serbia with the construction of the international railway line (Belgrade Center) – Stara Pazova – Novi Sad – Subotica – state border – (Kelebia). Based on the Technical Specifications for Interoperability, a new control system has been introduced. The system is based on so-called braking curves.
