TRACTION/ENERGY CALCULATIONS IN OPENTRACK

Abstract

The paper presents the possibilities of traction-energy calculations in OpenTrack software in relation to the type of traction unit. An overview of the possible variants of rolling stock running resistance and traction diagram display options are given. Briefly, the history of traction-energy calculation on Serbian Railways is shown together with importance of application of traction-energy software packages. Software package OpenTrack is shown from the point of rolling stock and summarizes the simulation results. Finally, the possibility of applying the software package OpenTrack at the Serbian railway lines by existing operators, as well as in future that will occur with the expansion of interoperability in this area is analyzed.
