Abstract

The paper research subject is project management in areas of e-business and e-commerce, presenting the theoretical concept and application of the field in the railway sector. The information technologies became part of every-day life, and have definitely changed the way how business is run, especially in transaction-driven business. Information exchange process has never been faster, while companies are choosing to be present on Internet, in order to achieve higher profit riding on the globalization benefits. Consumers are also using the global network to exchange information between themselves, but also to get more information sources, to support informative-based decision making. The digital presence of the company is playing significant role, rather than working hours and location. Via e-commerce each buyer can perform transaction, any time, any where, while he is connected to the Network. The global nature of the Internet and e-commerce development has changed the life dynamics. Because of the dynamic environment, doing e-business became a must – and main motivation of the authors to perform researches in this area, this time in context of railway sector.
