SECURITY AS A PARAMETER OF QUALITY IN RAILWAY PASSENGER TRAFFIC
Abstract
Transport as a public of service has an important role in the people’s society, but in fact most of public trasport companies only care about the service as on output. It means that the purpose of their activities are simply providing transportation capacities or transporting somebody. However, customer satisfaction is a key to the future development of public transport. Security, as factor of service quality is an important aspect of the service passengers receive. In recent years the transportation sectors has become increasingly vulnerable to security risks. One of the greatest challenges is to protect train stations, where the rail faces a crucial need to guard passengers, employees, goods, infrastructure, and assets against possible threats. Managing risks and threats is a challenging task, since many different areas need to be monitored: tracks, rail stations, underground passageways, parking areas, buildings, luggage storage facilities, trains. The security and well-being of users, drivers and employees is a priority during the Covid pandemic 19. The new guidelines that are being introduced have the task of enabling safe business and protection, ie. ensuring comfortable and secure stay in trains and stations. There is great potential to improve security on public transit– through technology development, redesigned stations and vehicles, information sharing, and protection system.
