Abstract

In the modern economy, due to the high costs of physical distribution, the analysis of trade flows has become especially important. Various studies have shown that these costs can significantly affect the final price of a product. At each stage of the flow of goods, an appropriate capacity structure of individual modes of transport is required. According to different logistical systems of physical distribution of goods, the choice and organization of transport and the structure of transport capacities define transport flows. Uneven distribution of transport flows by modes of transport, dominated by road traffic, in addition to high distribution costs, causes multiple problems in safety, capacity (bottlenecks on the European road network) and ecology (high emissions of CO2 and other undesirable oxides, vibration, noise). The main motive of this paper is to present the influence of one large business entity on a different relationship of distribution of transport among modes of transport in the observed region. The influence of the subject ‘s work on the total freight and railway transport flows is also presented. The Podunavlje Administrative District of the Republic of Serbia was observed.
